Tealium Digital Velocity 2025
Live drawing conference speakers
What makes a great gift for a conference speaker? How about a portrait of them surrounded by the key takeaways from their speech, handed to them as they finish their talk? Sounds pretty good - that's what Tealium wanted when they got in touch with me to attend their 2025 Digital Velocity event in London. Over one and a half days, I sat by the side of the stage and drew their guest speakers as they explored the worlds of data, tech and AI to a packed audience.
I left the ipad at home and got out the pens and paints. Prior to the conference, I mixed up a palette of paints to match the events brand colours and prepared some lovely textured paper with the brand logo and event title. The pace of the work was quite full on; each talk was between 15 minutes and half an hour and some talks had multiple speakers, meaning I had to do up to three individual portraits over one talk.
Your illustrations were brilliant! Thank you for pulling out the core messages of each session so succinctly.

A particular highlight was drawing the keynote speaker: Dr Hannah Fry. A real challenge as I was listening too intently to all the wonderful things she had to say about quantum computing and why pigeons shouldn't become doctors.
The event went really well and the illustrations generated a lot of good feedback. If you're looking for something to really celebrate the speakers at your event then drop me a line and let's make a plan.
