Hooo boy, book number three has hit the shelves. My latest book, 2021: Nature Month by Month, written by the fabulous Anna Wilson and published by the good folks at Nosy Crow has been released into the wild. To date, I'd say this one is the one I'm proudest of. While it's an update to the original 2019 book (much like the 2020 book was) this time I feel that I've hit a bit more of a stride with the illustrations.
The world it's appearing in is much changed than when 2020 ventured forth. Lockdowns, pandemics and restrictions on how we live our lives mean that this little book of activities, facts, stories and culture takes on a much more important role. Throughout the various lockdowns (two at the time of writing, hopefully no more!) people have been faced with a renewed appreciation for the role nature plays in their lives. Time spent outdoors has become precious. I'm hopeful that this book will help children and families appreciate what is around them that little bit more.
